Lauren Eva Ward – EP Preview
The Harrison, Kings Cross
Wednesday 13th November
Doors 7:30pm, Live Music 8:15pm
Hailing from Devon and now based in London, Lauren Eva Ward is originally a flautist, but also plays and teaches a multitude of other instruments. From her first encounter with folk music through Wren Music’s Roots programme as a teenager, Lauren has gone on to continually prove herself in promoting and performing folk music in multiple contexts.
Lauren will be releasing her debut EP in early 2020, turning her hand to her own arrangements of instrumental folk music inspired by years of music education and ceilidh performances.
Combining traditional elements with contemporary tunes from across the UK and into mainland Europe, the music intertwines in ways that other multi-instrumentalists will appreciate. Expect flute-driven melodies with thoughtfully arranged accompaniment from guitar, mandolin and bass.
Lauren will be joined for this concert by guitarist Jacob Houghton and cellist Laura Victoria.
Don’t miss Lauren’s intimate performance guaranteed to encourage audience reflection on contemporary and traditional folk.
