We are the Wildlife: The debut solo LP from folk chanteuse and songwriter Brona McVittie is steeped in the beauty and magic of her native County Down. While her own songs are inspired by the great rural scapes of Mourne, she also unearths and breathes new life into lesser-heard traditional songs from the surrounding area. Pastoral hues are evoked by her thoughtful orchestrations featuring the mighty talents of millennial post-rocker Keiron Phelan (flute), film-composer Hutch Demouilpied (trumpet), string specialist Richard Curran (violin, viola, cello) and artist-producer Myles Cochran (lap slide, drums) to underpin and gracefully complement her vocals, harp and electronics.
Brona is lead singer and harpist for the London Lasses and a member of cult instrumentalists littlebow.
Rosie Hodgson is a folk singer/songwriter from Midhurst, West Sussex. Having grown up surrounded by traditional music (and dancing with Knockhundred Shuttles!), her voice possesses a naturalness and maturity, bringing “a ruby-richness to lyrics new and old”. (Folk Radio UK)
