Hailing respectively from the Isle of Lewis and Strathpeffer in Scotland, Alastair Caplin (The Langan Band, Band of Burns) and Ewan Macdonald (Root & Branch, Garefowl, Band of Burns) have come together to take audiences on an evocative and varied journey through the music of their homeland
Having played together in various guises for many years, the pair now bring their multi-instrumental prowess together to form a richly talented duo, performing a mix of blisteringly fast tune sets with heart- wrenchingly beautiful laments on fiddles, guitar, mandolin and bouzouki. Gaelic song from the duo’s native Gàidhealtachd also feature heavily in the set, with poignant harmonium-accompanied Òrain Mòra (‘great songs’) interspersed with rapid tongue-twisting pùirt-a-beul (Gaelic mouth-music).
The pair are in the process of recording their first album as a duo, due to release in Spring 2022.
