“Something Sleeps are a mesmerising live act, encapsulating traditional storytelling with glorious harmonies and innovative arrangements.” — Soho Radio

London-based dream-folk band Something Sleeps is a collaboration between longtime friends and collaborators Fiona Fey (Mediaeval Baebes) and Rey Yusuf (Daemonia Nymphe), formerly of Tell Tale Tusk, joined by violinist Monica Viñoly and cellist Josh Considine.
The band’s exquisite and arresting vocal harmonies are the heart of their music. Layers of voices meld and soar above guitar fingerpicking and interwoven string lines, suggesting a subtle 60s feel with a distinctly modern edge.

The Journey So Far
Since releasing their 2024 debut album on Cuculi Records, Something Sleeps have played iconic venues like London’s Green Note and Manchester’s Band on the Wall, and festivals from Sidmouth Folk Festival to Broadstairs Folk Week, where they opened for Martin and Eliza Carthy. Their live shows are where their stories truly come alive — a quality that runs through their new single, “The Rocks of Bawn,” a reimagining of a 300-year-old Irish ballad that sent each band member back into their own family and heritage histories.
