Join The Magic Violin Trio for an enchanting musical voyage to celebrate the release of our latest EP, With Apfelstrudel & Turkish Coffee. Do come along – it promises to be a jolly good evening of connection, heritage, and the joy of a shared dance!

This performance is the delightful result of years spent wandering and wondering. Having gathered melodies like treasures during extensive fieldwork, Gundula Stojanova Gruen, artist, arranger and producer of this beautiful release, transformed her archaic findings into a vibrant tapestry of sound. Each arrangement is a love letter to tradition, carefully curated to carry the heart of the road directly to you. We are simply bursting with excitement to share these tunes in the living, breathing magic of a live performance.

With Apfelstrudel & Turkish Coffee serves as an aromatic, melodic brew of these travels. It is a true collaboration of spirit and skill, capturing the essence of the journeys that inspired it. Every note has been meticulously tuned to ensure the music bridges borders, stirs the heart, and feeds the spirit.

The Magic Violin Trio is a London-based ensemble featuring Gundula Stojanova Gruen (violin/vocals), Fraser Parry (cello/backing vocals), and Jeremy Halliwell (guitar/backing vocals), all united by a devotion to the deep, resonant textures of Balkan folk. Led by Gundula, a renowned singer, violinist, and ethnomusicologist, the trio combines rigorous research with high-energy performance. Her work is distinguished by extensive fieldwork throughout Eastern Europe and the Balkans, where she sources rare melodies and preserves authentic regional styles. Through her leadership and meticulous production, the ensemble delivers a sophisticated, soulful sound that remains true to the music’s heritage.
