Lost in the Loop are a folk band based in London. Their music puts a modern spin on the dance-like qualities of traditional melodies to get audiences stamping their feet. They match these with thoughtful renditions of folk songs and sea shanties, and soulful airs accompanied on bouzouki. Through their innovative arrangements and original compositions, they bring fresh energy to timeless musical traditions.
Having met at an Irish session in South London, they bonded over a shared love of traditional fiddle tunes and the rich possibilities of cello in folk music. They have quickly become a regular feature of the London folk scene, playing at venues such as The Harrison and Heath Street Baptist Church, Kings Place and a number of folk clubs across the city. This Summer Lost in the Loop have made their debut festival appearances, including The Great North Folk Festival, FolkEast and Bungay Folk Festival.
