Marshes – featuring Beth Porter
The Harrison, Kings Cross WC1H 8JF
Friday 20th December
Doors 7:30pm, Live Music 8:15pm

“A huge talent… to create endearing songs which are brimming with beautiful musical intuition.” FOLK Radio

“Quirky, engaging and really rather brilliant” fRoots Magazine

Drawing from her classical background and extensive and varied live performance experience, Beth Porter creates a unique and refreshingly modern texture to her repertoire contrasting the cello, ukulele and recorder with a voice that will hold your attention right down to the last glorious note.

Marshes perform songs that are dark, quirky, charming and ethereal and depict themes such as fear, confusion, money, the weather and the odd cheesy love song, all carried by Beth’s pure and unaffected voice. They have been said to channel Ray Davies, and have been likened to The Incredible String Band, REM, Cat Power, This Is The Kit, Penguin Cafe Orchestra and Radiohead!
