Growing up in the rural depths of Hertfordshire, Theo Dussek spent his childhood building wood-dens, foraging fruit, reading in tree-houses, writing stories or day-dreaming on long car journeys listening to Paul Simon. Theo felt from a very early age that words and music have a powerful force and can transport one’s imagination to new levels of expression and inspiration.

Theo attributes much of his romanticisms and poetic outlook of life to that rural upbringing; the spaciousness of fields, the mystery of forests, the folkloric cycle of the seasons and the adventures of the seas – not only do these provide Theo with ripe imagery for his lyrics but also set the tone for his music; the auditory backdrop to the romantic dreamings of a poet.

Accompanied by his expressive guitar playing, Nick Siepmann performs songs from the English folk tradition alongside original material which draws from history, myth and the richness of nature.
