‘Contemporary folk treasure’ and award-winning singer & fiddler, JACKIE OATES, tours the UK with multi-instrumentalist MIKE COSGRAVE (Cosgrave & Banks, Sin É, Daily Planet, Jackie Leven, Jenny Crook) and renowned double bass player JOHN PARKER (Nizlopi, Ward & Parker, Son of John).

This is a retrospective tour celebrating the re-release of Hyperboreans (MOJO****), Jackie’s iconic 2009 coming-of-age album, and will also include music from her ‘sublime’ 2022 album Gracious Wings (The Guardian****).

Jackie Oates is an English folk musician, singer, fiddler, song-writer and winner of two BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. A central figure in English traditional music, Jackie is regarded as one of the country’s best loved folk performers. Her 8th solo studio album, Gracious Wings, took flight in September 2022, receiving acclaim from the music press both within and beyond the folk genre. In the 14 years since her iconic coming of age album Hyperboreans Jackie has continued to build her large and varied following, write her own material, include surprising covers into her albums and breathe new life into the traditional gems she unearths.

In her diverse array of commissions, including The Orchestra of The Swan, LUSH and CBeebies, and collaborations with fellow musicians including John Spiers, Megan Henwood, Charlie Dore and Jon Wilks, Jackie seeks out new and surprising artistic corners to illuminate with her voice, research and musicianship.  A member of The Imagined Village with Eliza & Martin Carthy and the late Simon Emmerson, the band performed at festivals in 2022 including Beautiful Days. Jackie’s version of The Cure’s Untitled was a 2022 commission for LUSH and was featured on Iggy Pop’s Confidential Show on BBC Radio 6. In 2021, she wrote and produced ‘The Lace Makers: The Lost Art Of Telling’, a radio ballad featuring music from the Jackie Oates & John Spiers 2020 album, Needle Pin, Needle Pin.
