Folk troubadour Anna Smyrk has come a long way since growing up on a lavender farm in Australia. With her sun-drenched voice and songs about far-flung corners of the world, Anna’s music paints stunning pictures of places she’s lived- from the sapphire waters of the Solomon Islands to a dusty city in Cambodia.

She returns to the UK this summer with her trio and a live show featuring glowing harmonies, masterful violin and mandolin, songs in several languages, and lots of stories.

“Her lilting vocals have an uplifting warmth.”Folk Radio UK:

“A heady mixture of lilting folk and dark Americana-style country, combining effortlessly.” Rhythms magazine..

Anna’s sophomore EP came out in November 2019. It was featured in Folk Radio UK magazine and spun on BBC, ABC and community radio around the world. Having lived and worked in many places around Asia and the Pacific Island, the EP is a collection of songs inspired by her time living in these wild places. The songs evokes images of turquoise oceans, dreamy tropical heat and finding yourself in circumstances where you have to throw your assumptions out the window.

The EP was ‘Album of the Week’ at the AU Review, who described it as “a glorious piece of musical storytelling.” She’s been touring non-stop since the release, with shows all over Australia, including some of Australia’s finest folk festivals.

In January 2019, Anna toured the UK for the first time. Playing to packed out folk clubs earned Anna invitations to return to UK in 2020 for festival and headline appearances.
